The Classes

At Valentino Ribecco Fitness we teach Hapkido martial arts classes as well as focused fitness-only classes.

Hapkido classes improve strength, conditioning, flexibility, and agility through structured drills and progressive practice. Students learn a variety of strikes, kicks, breakfalls, joint locks, and practical self‑defense techniques in the traditional Korean Hapkido style. Training begins at white belt and advances through colored ranks to black belt, with formal tests and evaluations at each level.

Fitness-only classes are ideal for students who want to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, and conditioning through focused training. These sessions can be tailored to each student’s goals, drawing on a variety of methods and movements from yoga, gymnastics, dance, calisthenics, and martial arts to create balanced, effective workouts.

What is Hapkido

Our classes are based on the Korean Martial Art of Hap Ki Do. Master Valentino has been a practitioner, demonstrator and teacher of this method for over 40 years and holds a 7 Dan Black belt along with Master level teachers certifications and letters of appointment.

Hapkido is a comprehensive self-defense martial art that incorporates kicks, strikes, blocks, joint locks, grappling, throws, and controlled break-falls. Training also demands physical conditioning, sustained mental focus, and the cultivation of "ki" (inner energy). Ki development relies on disciplined breathing patterns and isometric exercises to build inner strength, sharpen concentration, and help practitioners apply techniques effectively under stress.

Master Valentino's training, certification and martial arts lineage can be traced back to the founder of Hapkido "Grand Master Choi Yong Sul" and is recognized by the Canadian/Korean Hap Ki Do, Kum Moo Do association founded by Grand Master Ki C. Yoon - 10th Dan/PHD
